Designing Characters as Landscape Architecture: A Blend of Art and Nature

ในการออกแบบภูมิทัศน์บนตัวละครหรือ "คาแรคเตอร์" ของเรา แนวคิดคือการมองตัวละครเหล่านั้นเป็น "สถาปัตยกรรม" ชิ้นหนึ่ง และทำให้ละครหรือสถานที่นั้นเกิดบริบทขึ้นมา กล่าวคือ เราไม่ได้เพียงแต่ออกแบบฉากหลังหรือตัวละครเท่านั้น แต่เราออกแบบภูมิทัศน์บนตัวละครด้วยความคิดที่ว่าตัวละครเหล่านั้นคือ Landscape Architecture นั่นเอง

ในศาสตร์ของ landscape มี element สองส่วนใหญ่ๆ คือ softscape ได้แก่ หญ้าหรือพืชพรรณต่างๆ และ hardscape ก็คือพื้นหรือผนัง และองค์ประกอบอื่นๆ ที่เป็นแข็ง เช่น ก้อนหินหรือโครงสร้างที่ทำจากวัสดุที่ไม่ใช่พืชพรรณ

เพื่อให้ผลงานมีความสวยงามและมีคุณภาพ ความหมายของความสวยนั้นมาจาก contrast ที่สมดุลระหว่างความแข็งกับความนุ่ม คือ การผสมผสานระหว่างวัตถุที่เป็น softscape กับ hardscape ให้ลงตัวอยู่ในภาพ

อีกหนึ่งทฤษฎีในศิลปะที่เรียกว่า Straight vs curve อธิบายได้ว่าบริเวณที่เป็นเส้นโค้งและมีความอ่อนนุ่มของร่างกายจะมีด้านตรงข้ามที่เป็นเส้นตรงและแข็งจากกระดูกหรือโครงสร้างอื่นๆ การสร้างจังหวะธรรมชาติในลักษณะนี้ทำให้เกิดความลงตัวสวยงาม

สำหรับเรา สถาปัตยกรรมที่งดงามที่สุดคือสัตว์และพืช ซึ่งหากดูในระดับที่ลึกขึ้นด้วยกล้องจุลทรรศน์จะพบโครงสร้างที่สวยงามที่สร้างขึ้นจากธรรมชาติ และมนุษย์นั้นเป็น 'สถาปัตยกรรม' ที่สวยงามมากอีกชิ้นหนึ่งของโลก

ถ้าถามว่าอะไรทำให้ภาพหรือผลงานของคนหนึ่งมีค่ามากกว่าคนอื่น มันคือการดีไซน์ หรือการออกแบบ ซึ่งเป็นการตัดสินใจว่าจะทิ้งหรือเก็บอะไรไว้บนภาพ การออกแบบคือการสร้างคุณค่าไม่ใช่แค่การ 'อัดให้เต็ม' เพื่อโชว์เทคนิคเท่านั้น

แนวคิด คือ การเลือกทิ้งบางอย่าง เลือกแบบแบรนด์ สไตล์ หรือเทคนิคที่จะไม่ใช้ และเลือกสิ่งที่จะเก็บไว้ หรือสร้างเป็นพื้นที่ว่าง จุดไหนที่จะเติมสีหรือจุดไหนที่ไม่ควรเติม การดีไซน์ที่ดีต้องคิดถึงประสิทธิภาพ การประหยัดทรัพยากร และงานที่ออกมาดีที่สุด ไม่ใช่การใช้ทรัพยากรหรือทักษะทุกอย่างที่เรามีให้มากที่สุด

In the design of landscapes on our characters or "characters," the concept is to see these characters as a piece of "architecture," creating context for the play or location. That is to say, we don't just design the background or the characters, but we also design the landscape on the characters with the idea that these characters are Landscape Architecture.

In the field of landscape, there are two main elements: softscape, which includes grass or various plants, and hardscape, which refers to the ground or walls, and other hard components such as rocks or structures made from non-plant materials.

To make the work beautiful and of high quality, the meaning of beauty comes from the balanced contrast between hard and soft, that is, the blending of softscape and hardscape in the picture.

Another theory in art called Straight vs Curve explains that areas with curves and softness of the body will have opposite straight lines and hardness from bones or other structures. Creating a natural rhythm in this way makes it look beautiful and well-balanced.

For us, the most beautiful architecture is animals and plants, which, if examined more closely with a microscope, reveals beautiful natural structures. And humans are another beautiful "architecture" of the world.

If asked what makes one person's picture or work more valuable than another's, it is design, or planning, which is a decision on what to leave or keep in the picture. Design is about creating value, not just about 'filling up' to show technique only.

The concept is about choosing to leave certain things out, choosing brands, styles, or techniques not to use, and choosing what to keep or create as blank spaces. Deciding where to add color or where not to is part of good design, which must consider efficiency, resource conservation, and the best work does not come from using up all the resources or skills that we have.
